However, after I got over my trepidation that the glass would break, I was able to work the glass parts into the pewter brackets with just a bit of force (I placed the top of the glass part into the circular top of the bracket and then holding the bottom of the glass with my fingers, I slowly worked the glass part over the lower circular part of the bracket). The handle on the clamp is a circular metal piece that doesn’t make for turning the crank very comfortable, but it gets the job done.
